Week: 14 Date of planning:7/12/2021 Period: 41 Date of teaching: 9/12/2021 UNIT 7 : TRAFFIC Lesson 1: Getting started A.Objective: - By the end of this lesson, students will be able to listen and practice the dialogue “ Monday in the playground” for specific information and get involved in the topic “traffic”. B. Language knowledge: 1. Structure: - How far is it from .to ? - How do/ does + S + V ? - How about + V_ing .? 2. Vocabulary: the lexical items related to the topic “Traffic”. C. Teaching aids: 1. Students: textbooks, work books, notebooks 2. Teacher: Lesson plan ,teacher’s books, laptop, posters D. Skills: Main skills: reading, speaking and listening Sub skills: writing E.Procedures: I. Warm up (5’) - Greeting - Play a video about traffic.

How do go you to school everday? - Show pictures about means of transport and some English words. - Ask students to match some means of transport with the pictures. -> Lead in the new lesson: Unit 7: Traffic. II. New lesson(37’) 1. Vocabulary.(4’) - Help students with some new words - Show pictures - Ask students to copy down in their notebooks. + boat(n) :con thuyền + sail(v): chèo (thuyền) + traffic jam(n) : sự tắc đường + get on(ph.v): lên xe + get off(ph.v) : xuống xe 2. Practice (28’) * Activity 1: Listen and read.(23’) *Set the scene: (5’) - Show a picture in the dialogue. ? Who are the girls? What are they talking about? - Show exercise 1a and ask students to guess the answer 1.What did Mai do yesterday afternoon?

Then practice them.(4’) - Give model first - Ask Ss to role-play the short conversations in pairs before creating their own short role-plays. - Check their pronunciation. d. Answer the questions.(5’) - Show all questions and run through. - Organze a game for students to play. - Check the correct answer and then ask students to copy in their notebooks. Key: 1. She stayed at home and played with her brother. 2. It’s about two kilometers. 3. She usually goes to school with her dad. 4. Because sometimes there are traffic jams. 5. She goes to school by bike. *Activity 2: Match a verb on the left with a means of transport on the right. There may be more than one correct answer. Add a preposition when necessary. (5’) - Show means of transport and verbs. - Ask students to read all together. - Ask Ss to work individually to do the task, and write their answers in their notebooks. - Check their answers. - Give model sentence using a phrase from exercise Eg: My father taught me how to ride a bike.
  6. - Ask students write sentences with these phrases in their notebooks at home. Key: 1. Ride a bike 2. Drive a car 3. Fly by plane 4. Sail on/ in a boat 5. Get on a bus/ a train/ a bike/ a motorbike 6. Get off a bus/ a train/ a bike/ a motorbike 3. Production: Find someone in your class who never(5’) - Give instruction. A: Do you + bare infinitive .? B:Yes, S + do No, S + don’t - Ask students work in groups of 7 to do this activity. - Give each group one piece of paper FIND SOMEONE WHO 1 never walks to school. 2 never goes to school by bus. 3 never cycles for exercise. 4 never takes a train. 5 never sails on/in boat. 6 never flies by plane.
  7. The winner is the group which has all name of students in activities and the stand in front of class to talk about this activity. - Check their pronunciation and give feedback. III. Consolidation(2’) - Retell the main content of the lesson. IV Homework(1’) - Learn by heart vocabulary. - Practise the dialogue again. - Make sentences in exercise 3(page 7). - Prepage for Unit 7: A closer look 1
